WEST DOWNTOWN LIGHTING

It has been an exciting and dramatic bridge reconstruction in West Downtown, Santa Barbara. The landscaping is almost completed and the corner house on Haley/De La Vina has commenced it's cottage style restoration. So far so good.... There is one important thing missing in this area of Santa Barbara. They are lights, lights, lights! Yes indeed! We need lights to illuminate the Haley thoroughfare--one of the popular walkways leading up to City College and the quintessential beach areas. Lighting is needed, wanted, and now in high demand amongst the West Downtown neighbors. Christina Pizarro, a long time neighborhood advocate has been in contact with the City of Santa Barbara, working closely with City Council members and neighbors. Ms. Pizarro maintains that lighting this area would be a critical investment the city should consider. After all, the area has been the stage for crime ranging from murder, theft, drug busts, and trespassing to name a few. Please contact the city council and voice your support for our lighting requests.
