According to one of our neighbors, I have learned that the Ortega Street Trees are scheduled to be removed by the City of Santa Barbara. The removal of these mature trees are a concern to many neighbors, as they add to the "green" beauty that Santa Barbara is well known for. For those who have not walked along Ortega, it's a beautifully canopied stroll to Downtown. I will call the city to know exactly what they plan do to with the trees.
